Maternal mortality remains a critical issue, as it reflects the tragic reality that pregnancy-related deaths are alarmingly high, particularly in the U.S., which leads its high-income peers in this area.Recent studies indicate that more than 80% of these pregnancy-related deaths could be prevented with improved maternal health services and better access to postpartum care.
